An element of Back to the Lab's mission is to promote an interest in photography in underserved communities, particularly with young people. We live in an era where taking a photo with a cellphone is almost an instinct for kids. We want to expand on that, and help open a new realm of possibilities for how a generation can share their story through photography.

Back to the Lab is a community driven organization for photographers seeking to hone their skills and craft their vision. Our method is a blend of photographic technique and an understanding of the language of photography. We provide resources for photographers in the form of workshops, artist talks, meet-ups, and one on one mentoring.
