I was trying to photograph my family through my eyes. My dad- everywhere at once, sometimes silly. My mom and brother- slinking around unseen. And my dog- chubby and bug-eyed.

Many of the moments captured are of mealtime, as that is the time we tend to spend together as a single family unit. It’s tense and sometimes funny, with a lot of delicious food. I also capture the moments between mealtime, which are silent moments of lazy filler space.

My process for making these photographs was not a very quiet or journalistic one, as I sent bursts of flash throughout the house in collective intervals of shooting. I had to get up close and personal with my day to day life.

I’m trying to convey an awkward, quirky, tense and maybe cartoonish feeling, hopefully a relatable one for families in quarantine everywhere.
